エコチル調査研究部

研究部紹介

10万人の母子を対象とする出生コホート調査、子どもの健康と環境に関する調査(エコチル調査)が日本全国15か所で実施されております。当研究部では、日本最大規模の出生コホート調査であるエコチル調査を医学的側面からの調査の立案・企画・実施をサポートしています。

研究内容

近年、子どもたちの間で花粉症や食物アレルギーなどのアレルギー疾患や肥満、発達障害などが増加傾向にあります。それらの多くは、身の回りの環境、食事や運動といった生活習慣、遺伝的な性質などが関連しあっているといわれています。これらの関連を解明するために、環境省が2010年度に「エコチル調査」という大規模な国家プロジェクトを開始しました。

コアセンター(国立環境研究所)を中核に全国15か所の拠点にユニットセンターを設置し、調査を実施しています。成育医療研究センター(エコチル調査研究部)は、メディカルサポートセンターとして医学的側面から調査の立案・企画・実施をサポートする役割を担っています。具体的には、医学的検査・精神神経発達検査に関連した調査方法・調査項目の検討、予備研究による検証、実施マニュアル案の作成、研修会等による検査者標準化のためのトレーニング等を担当しています。また、世界各国で行われている子供と環境に関連する調査や国際機関との連携や調査で得られた結果をいち早く社会に還元するため論文執筆などにも力を入れております。
