Division of Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders

Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders include non-IgE-mediated gastrointestinal food allergies (GI allergy) in neonates and infants, eosinophilic gastroenteritis (EGE) and eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). Prevalence of GI allergy is 0.21%. Annually, 2000 babies are affected with this condition. In addition, EGE may cause inflammation to last a lifetime. We are conducting research to construct desease concepts of these conditions, to develop diagnostic tests, therapeutic methods and to investigate the cause of disease.
