The Center for Clinical Research and Development is dedicated to advancing medical research related to child and women's health. This commitment aligns with the National Center for Child Health and Development's founding philosophy. Our goal is to bridge the gap between basic research and clinical practice, and to promote clinical trials. The child and women's health field involves a variety of medical specialties, such as pediatrics, pediatric surgery, obstetrics, and gynecology. Additionally, research in these fields often requires special considerations to ensure the safety of participants, especially children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers. There are numerous challenges in this field, including the lack of progress in developing pharmaceuticals and other treatments and the limited availability of medications used in Europe and the United States in Japan. Advancing medicine related to child health and women's health is essential for creating a society where children and women can live peacefully and where the next generation can be raised in good health. The early practical application of research through clinical trials is an urgent task. We believe it is our mission to maximize the social value of research results by emphasizing dialogue with local communities in medical research from the perspective of patient and public involvement. Furthermore, utilizing real-world data is important for developing treatments especially for rare diseases, so we promote aggregating and utilizing various disease-related information. The Center for Clinical Research and Development will collaborate with domestic and international medical institutions and research centers that specialize in pediatric and women's healthcare to advance research and development by implementing research promotion activities.
